Adjunct Assistant Professor of English

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Assistant Professor of English to join our faculty team at Santa Fe College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of courses in composition, literature, technical communications, and mass communications.
Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and deliver English instruction to promote student success within a community college setting.
- Support and promote the mission of the English Department, which centers on providing personalized, supportive learning environments that challenge students to achieve high levels of academic performance and foster intellectual independence.
- Collaborate with department chair, faculty, and peers to evaluate, revise, and develop curriculum to cultivate the mastery of course content.
- Provide students with frequent, timely assessment of and clear feedback regarding academic performance.
- Appropriately document student progress and maintain records, including attendance, grading, and student learning outcomes.
- Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
A Master's Degree in English, Master of Fine Arts in English and/or Creative Writing, or a Master's degree with eighteen (18) graduate hours within the qualifying fields of Creative Writing, English, Applied Linguistics, Linguistics, Literature, and/or Rhetoric and Composition is required. A criminal background check will be conducted.
Relevant teaching experience within a community college setting is preferred.
General Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesThe Adjunct Assistant must have the ability to deliver a high level of interactive customer service, develop and maintain collaborative relationships throughout the organization, communicate effectively, and possess proficient computer skills, including familiarity with the Microsoft Suite of Office Applications.
The successful applicant must be willing to work a flexible schedule at multiple sites and demonstrate the ability to work well with students, faculty, and staff at all levels within a diverse, multi-cultural, collaborative environment.
