Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Eastern PA Gastroenterology & Liver Specialists. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical staff in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist nursing staff with basic patient care, patient flow, and general clinical duties under the direction of the charge nurse.
  • Gather medical history information, including obtaining information from various hospital and laboratory systems.
  • Room patients, take vital signs, and document patient information in the medical record.
  • Accurately enter patient medications and allergies on the medication list and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Help stock department equipment and supplies, and maintain a clutter-free and organized exam area.
  • Take phone messages for the department and assist physicians with procedures as needed.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years of experience as a medical assistant.
  • Basic nursing skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to take vital signs and weights accurately, and maintain electronic medical records.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Physical Demands:

This role requires standing for long periods, frequent lifting up to 25 pounds, and repetitive hand/arm movements. You will also be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and assist patients on and off procedure tables.
