Prep Cook

Tomato Bar is a premium pizza concept that began in Valparaiso, IN in 2013. Every part of Tomato Bar is designed and maintained with the utmost quality in mind, including each member of our team.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for setting up workstations, preparing ingredients, and assisting with culinary tasks.

• Prepare and assemble ingredients for menu items.
• Set up and sanitize workstations.
• Follow prep lists created by kitchen management.
• Measure ingredients and seasonings, and prepare cooking ingredients.
• Ensure all food items are properly stored and easily accessible.
• Assist kitchen team in preparing food and attending to culinary tasks.
• Supervise food and cooling room temperatures.
• Accept or reject ingredients from suppliers.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen.

• Previous experience as a prep cook preferred, but not required.
• Availability to work nights and weekends.
• Strong task and time management abilities.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Strong knife skills.
• ServSafe food handling certification is preferred.
• The ability to follow recipes.
• The ability to work within a team.
