Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to provide nursing services to multiple Developmental Services residential programs in the Barre area. As a key member of our nursing team, you will be responsible for educating and delegating unlicensed assistive personnel, monitoring and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, advocating and intervening to promote wellness of residents, and encouraging and promoting community inclusion for all residents.
Key Responsibilities:
• Generate protocols and procedures as resident health conditions dictate.
• Schedule and attend all medical, dental, psychiatric, and specialist appointments as needed.
• Ensure that all medications are in place, ordered, renewed, and ready for medication administration by residential support staff.
• Ensure that all staff are delegated for medication administration and special care procedures.
• Coordinate and/or teach all annual medically related training to residential support staff, including Body Positioning, Seizure Disorders, Infection Control, Medication Administration, etc.
• Promote respectful and effective communication between all partners, residents, staff, medical professionals, vendors, etc.
• The ability to work independently, as well as a team member, and to serve as an example of professional nursing excellence.
Requirements:
• R.N. with current Vermont license.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Willingness to use own vehicle, if necessary. Must have a valid driver's license, possess an excellent driving record, and have access to a safe, reliable, insured vehicle.
