Crothall Healthcare is seeking a skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician II to join our team in Brooklyn, NY. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on patient care and support equipment. Your expertise will ensure the reliability and safety of our equipment, supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on a wide range of medical equipment, ensuring compliance with established standards.
- Manage equipment inventory and schedules service as needed.
- Develop and maintain PM procedures, files, and manuals for equipment.
- Ensure test equipment is calibrated and functioning properly.
- Respond promptly to equipment-related issues and concerns from clinical departments.
- Research and order repair parts within budget parameters.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Provide training and support to equipment users and Crothall staff as needed.
- Collaborate with the Department Manager to develop service strategies and improve equipment performance.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements:
- Associates degree in electronics, biomedical equipment technology, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience servicing clinical equipment in a hospital environment.
- Valid driver's license (for field service positions requiring travel).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Working knowledge of computer applications for tracking service histories and producing reports.
- Ability to work independently with some supervision.
