Direct Counsel, LLC is seeking an experienced Patent Associate or Patent Agent to join its Intellectual Property practice in Houston, TX or Atlanta, GA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications with the USPTO and foreign patent offices.
  • Provide technological guidance to attorneys and assist clients in documenting inventions.
  • Counsel clients on comprehensive IP strategy, prior art analysis, and IP portfolio management.

Requirements:

  • Law firm experience and formal training in a law firm environment.
  • Registration to practice before the USPTO is a plus, but not required.
  • Bachelor's Degree (or advanced degree) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Telecommunications.
  • Industry experience preferred but not required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and team-oriented.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task independently under deadlines.
