Job Summary

The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a compassionate and adaptable Certified Nursing Assistant to provide care in various locations within a 150-mile radius from home address. This opportunity offers competitive pay, mileage reimbursement, flexibility, and no contract requirement.

Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and providing psychosocial support.
  • Transfer, reposition, and walk residents using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment.
  • Provide range of motion and passive exercises.
  • Assist with food preparation and dining, creating a positive experience for residents.
  • Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
  • Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
  • Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
  • Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
  • Participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred.
  • Minimum age of 16.
  • Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position.

Requirements
  • Dependent on facility and required responsibilities, this role may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver's license.
  • Must be medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position as per our Sanford Driving Policy.
