Position Summary: The role involves planning and executing daily lesson plans while ensuring the safety and well-being of children in the preschool setting through the following responsibilities:


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develops and submits monthly lesson plans in line with administrative protocols.
  2. Ensures a safe and engaging classroom environment, including outdoor activities.
  3. Engages children through various instructional methods such as play, music, arts and crafts, reading, writing, science, and physical activities.
  4. Supports children in completing projects and enhancing their learning capabilities.
  5. Creates and maintains a stimulating classroom atmosphere with relevant visual aids tailored to the curriculum and developmental stages.
  6. Observes and documents each child's unique talents, challenges, and developmental needs, reporting any concerns to management.
  7. Encourages and nurtures each child's self-esteem and holistic development across physical, social, emotional, and cognitive domains.
  8. Conducts annual evaluations for children or as necessary.
  9. Builds and maintains positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
  10. Assists children with personal care tasks appropriate to their age and developmental stage.
  11. Collaborates closely with Classroom Leaders in a team-oriented teaching environment, sharing insights and suggestions regularly.
  12. Supervises volunteers and classroom aides on a daily basis.
  13. Participates in training sessions, staff meetings, and parent engagement activities as required.
  14. Performs general cleaning and maintenance duties in the classroom.
  15. Documents daily activities and communicates with parents/guardians as needed.
  16. Keeps accurate attendance records and maintains related documentation.
  17. Adheres to established policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  18. Completes additional related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Early Education and Care or a related field is preferred, or progress toward such a degree. A minimum of six months of experience working with preschool-aged children is required for candidates with a Bachelor's degree, while those without a degree should have at least one year of relevant experience. Familiarity with Department of Early Education and Care regulations and QRIS Standards is essential. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster effective relationships with staff, children, families, and community members are crucial for success in this role. Completion of EEC strong start training and all requirements for EEC Staff Records Checklist is necessary. Candidates must possess EEC Preschool License Requirements from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.

Education/Experience:
A High School Diploma is required, with an Associate's Degree preferred. Prior experience in early childhood education is necessary, and EEC Preschool Certification is advantageous.
