DMC Detroit Receiving Hospital is recognized as Michigan's first Level I Trauma Center, playing a pivotal role in the advancement of emergency medicine and currently housing one of the most active and well-equipped emergency departments in the region.
As the first and largest verified burn center in the state, it stands among only 43 such centers nationwide.
Additionally, Receiving is home to the state's premier 24/7 hyperbaric oxygen program, Metro Detroit's inaugural certified primary stroke center, and the nationally acknowledged DMC Rosa Parks Geriatric Center of Excellence.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Registered Nurse (RN) at the Detroit Medical Center (DMC) is an integral member of the Patient Care Services Team, tasked with ensuring the effective delivery of nursing care by the nursing staff.
The RN oversees and administers patient care activities for a designated group of patients and their families, utilizing independent judgment, effective communication, and collaboration with all team members, including ancillary and support services.
The role of the Registered Nurse at DMC encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, education, and supervision.DMC RN Responsibilities:
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Delegate, assess, provide, and evaluate patient care.
• Assign and oversee patient care activities to team members.
• Monitor patient progress and prepare patients for discharge.
• Report directly to senior unit management and engage in shared decision-making activities.
Qualifications:
1. Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
2. BSN is preferred.
3. Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan.
4. American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification is required.
