About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Telehealth Technician/LPN to join our team at the Armstrong County CBOC in West Kittanning, PA.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to patients with diseases and injuries seeking treatment in the clinic, as directed by physician or mid-level provider.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Actively assist with patient care, physical examinations, and ancillary tests via telehealth modalities, including Clinical Video Teleconferencing (CVT), Care Coordination Store and Forward (CCSF), and others.
  • Scheduling: Oversee telehealth appointment scheduling, working with parent VAMC schedulers to ensure appointments are managed and no conflicts with telehealth rooms and equipment.
  • Nursing Assessments: Perform annual and routine nursing assessments, including interviewing and collecting patient information, recording information in patient's electronic medical record, and administering medications as appropriate.
  • Diagnostics: Operate electrocardiograph (EKG) and other diagnostic equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests and treatments, including glucometers, pulse oximeters, nebulizers, oxygen equipment, spirometry, eye exams, etc.
  • Clinical Outcomes: Remain focused on achieving excellent clinical outcomes through specified VA guidelines, organize lunch and learn training for staff via CVT, and educate patients on telehealth resources available.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to each veteran, both in person and over the phone, as well as to fellow colleagues and clinic visitors, establish and maintain a warm, welcoming, and professional atmosphere for our colleagues and veterans.
  • Enrollment Growth: Participate in the clinic's outreach events to help support the clinic's enrollment initiatives, assist in development plan to increase Veteran participation in telehealth modalities, and support patient enrollment and retention in appointments, follow-up visits, or nurse visits.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or certificate of an accredited program of practical or vocational nursing as approved by the state.
  • Minimum one-year experience as an LPN/LVN in a related primary care or ambulatory care setting; government healthcare environment preferred.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) as specified by individual VAMC contract.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong computer skills, including EMR experience.

Salary and Benefits:

$22-24 per hour
