About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced GAL Manager to join our team in the 4th Judicial District. As a GAL Manager, you will be responsible for providing direct and indirect supervision to GAL staff and volunteers, ensuring the effective implementation of the GAL program in the district.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect leadership to GAL Supervisors and their staff, including coaching, assistance, and guidance.
  • Ensure timely written or oral recommendations are made in the best interest of children to the court, probation/social worker, placement staff, and other providers.
  • Review, analyze, and interpret applicable rules and laws, and develop and recommend district goals, improvements, and standards.
  • Manage and oversee recruitment, screening, interviewing, and selection process for district staff.
  • Support, coordinate, and assist in the training of district staff, including pre-service, mentorship, local court orientation, and continuing education.
  • Represent the GAL Program's 4th Judicial District to judicial, social services, and other external partners.
  • Respond to inquiries about the GAL program, roles, and responsibilities, and provide presentations to community groups.
  • Administer and oversee the district program budget, reviewing and authorizing other program expenditures, and initiating and approving contracts for services.
  • Participate in state, district, and local committees and task forces to promote and coordinate the GAL program.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human services, business administration, human resources, or a related field.
  • Experience in a non-profit, public sector, social services, or legal field.
  • Must reside near the assigned service area.
  • Possession of a valid Minnesota driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree and considerable related experience.
