Position Summary:
We are in search of a meticulous and skilled Technical Maintenance Mechanic. This role is essential for the upkeep and repair of various machinery and systems utilized in food production. The primary responsibility is to ensure optimal functionality and efficiency of all equipment. This position reports directly to the Maintenance and Facilities Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of Vertical Form Filling machines (VFF), Pouch Filling Machines, Cappers, Labelers, Pneumatic Systems, Hydraulic Systems, Electrical wiring and troubleshooting, electrical panels, Conveyor systems, HVAC, PLC Programming, and conduct general machinery preventative maintenance and service checks.
  • Install and maintain essential appliances to uphold hygiene standards and comply with SQF regulations.
  • Collaborate with fellow maintenance personnel to address repairs on additional machinery, including dust collection and pneumatic systems used in food production.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma is required, with a preference for 2 years of post-secondary education in a related field or industry certification in HVAC, PLC Programming, or Electronics. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of documented experience as a Maintenance professional or industry journeyman.

Physical Requirements:
This role is physically demanding, necessitating prolonged periods on your feet. Candidates must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, climb ladders, and lift over 75 lbs consistently. Additionally, the ability to read and interpret building drawings and diagrams is essential. Adherence to OSHA regulations is mandatory, and preference will be given to those with OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification. Teamwork and maintaining high standards of interpersonal relationships are crucial.

Work Environment:
This position involves regular exposure to manufacturing areas where personal protective equipment, such as eye protection, hearing protection, hairnets, face masks, gowns, and gloves, is required. The work environment includes ambient room temperatures, lighting, noise, and food facility conditions. Employees will operate in a fast-paced, high-stress environment, handling machinery that often operates at high voltages and pressure. Safety and attention to detail are paramount.
