Job Summary:

The MRI Technologist plays a critical role in the diagnostic imaging process, working independently to perform complex procedures and utilize state-of-the-art equipment. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures, including complex MRI exams, utilizing computerized diagnostic imaging equipment.
  • Assist Radiologists in invasive and biopsy procedures, utilizing MRI equipment to pinpoint anatomical locations.
  • Program computer systems to ensure completion of exams and accurate storage of scan data on PACS.
  • Coordinate and prioritize procedures to maintain high patient care and continuity.
  • Ensure accurate coding and entry of charges in the billing system.
  • Demonstrate competence with all age-specific groups and adapt patient assessment and care methods to meet unique needs.
  • Comply with policies, procedures, and standards set by State and Federal agencies, the hospital, and other regulatory entities.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and maintain a high level of professionalism.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiological Sciences or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in a clinical imaging setting highly preferred.
  • Registered by the ARRT in MRI preferred.
  • Current state licensure required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
