Job Summary:

As a Certified Nursing Assistant with CHRISTUS Health, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care in our acute care setting. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will assist with routine and repetitive patient care activities, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
  • Complete relevant documents and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare patient rooms for admission, setting up IV poles and adjusting beds as needed.
  • Ensure patient belongings are returned to the patient at discharge.
  • Transport patients safely and maintain confidentiality.
  • Clean and maintain equipment and supplies.
  • Run errands as required and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Assist licensed personnel in providing a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Perform unit-specific patient care tasks and document on the flowsheet.
  • Identify and report changes in patient condition to the nurse in charge.
  • Assist with inventory management and maintain a clean and organized supply area.
  • Respond to emergencies and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Respond to phone calls and patient call lights.
  • Adapt patient care methods to meet the unique needs of each patient.

Requirements:

A. Education/Skills

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
B. Experience

Patient care experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

CNA License in state of employment required.
BLS from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
