As a Diesel Mechanic with First Student, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet of school buses.
Key responsibilities include:
Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and tire rotations, to prevent breakdowns and ensure vehicles are road-ready.
Diagnosing and repairing complex issues with Freightliner and Navistar chassis, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
Conducting safety inspections and DOT maintenance inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.
Assisting with mobile emergency services and responding to breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner.
Requirements:
Valid driver's license required; willingness to obtain CDL while employed - We provide training
At least 1 year of automotive or diesel maintenance and repair experience or technical school education.
Possess a mechanic's tool set.
Willingness to participate in ASE certification program - training, testing, and bonuses provided
Subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee.
