Key Responsibilities:

1. Familiarize yourself with the insurance plans most commonly utilized by our patients to enhance communication.2. Accurately document essential insurance details in patient files for easy access.
3. Process and submit insurance claims on a daily basis.
4. Monitor and follow up on pending claims.
5. Provide the appointment coordinator with patient names and outstanding amounts to facilitate effective collection during appointments.
6. Identify patients in the daily schedule who may have financial concerns, document payment issues in their records, and arrange discussions with them prior to or during their appointments.
7. Record all financial conversations with patients in their files.
8. Prepare and issue monthly patient statements as part of a regular billing cycle.
9. Conduct collection calls as necessary.
10. Confirm financial agreements with patients, including payment amounts and schedules.
11. Follow up with correspondence regarding collections when unable to reach patients by phone.
12. Prepare and refer uncollected accounts to collections with managerial approval and follow up as needed.
13. Monitor patients who have been contacted by collection agencies.
14. Provide requested information to insurance companies, such as x-rays, charting, narratives, and other documentation for claim processing when applicable.
15. Offer insurance predetermination documentation to patients, assist them in making financial arrangements, and schedule necessary treatments.
16. Communicate with insurance companies to address payment delays, requests for additional information, or to discuss denied treatment coverage.
17. Address all insurance inquiries on a daily basis.
18. Be willing to assist in other areas as required.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of one year of experience in insurance posting is required.
2. One year of experience with Open Dental software is highly preferred.
3. Proficient in English composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
4. Skilled in using standard office equipment, including telephones, calculators, copiers, fax machines, computers, and software applications (MS Excel, Word, Practice Management software).
Compensation:
$22-25 per hour
