We are currently seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Python and AWS, holding a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. This role is integral to our Mission Technology Division, where the focus is on leveraging technical expertise to enhance the prompt, dependable, and secure acquisition of open-source data and insights. The position entails providing developer support to create customized solutions addressing specific global collection challenges. Tasks may be executed independently or collaboratively, depending on the nature of the project. Responsibilities will include the development of resources based on Amazon Web Services (AWS), requiring a comprehensive skill set across various computing, storage, and networking services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the technical lead to design, implement, and sustain multiple rapid-response capabilities for high-priority collection initiatives.
- Engage with various stakeholders, including mission partners, to ensure that capabilities and deliverables align with established requirements and operational standards.
- Develop and manage collection capabilities and deliverables within the AWS environment, utilizing approved AWS services.
- Ensure the integrity of collected data by validating compliance with data format specifications.
- Maintain all source code within the designated GitHub repository.
- Thoroughly document all source code, including execution instructions.
- Conduct operations and maintenance on collection capabilities and deliverables to adapt to evolving collection targets, technologies, data formats, and naming conventions.
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is mandatory
- Proven experience in Python programming.
- Experience with geo-spatial software, programming packages, and data formats.
- Proficient in creating and managing AWS resources, including EC2 instances, Lambda functions, S3 storage, and IAM policies.
- Familiarity with GitHub for version control.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience deploying AWS applications using AWS's Cloud Development Kit (CDK); Ansible and Terraform are not acceptable substitutes.
- Background in building and deploying containerized applications.
- Experience with search engines such as Elasticsearch, Lucene, or AWS's OpenSearch.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database management.
- Familiarity with other cloud services like Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect, or SysOps Administrator.
