Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate to join our team at Chenega Professional Services, LLC. As a key member of our Family Advocacy Program, you will provide critical support and services to victims of domestic abuse, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 24/7 response to victims of domestic abuse, offering confidential and non-clinical emergent and urgent services.
  • Establish and maintain safety plans for victims, working closely with treatment managers and other stakeholders to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with the Family Advocacy Treatment Manager and Family Advocacy Intervention Specialist to develop and implement safety plans, prioritizing the victim's safety and well-being.
  • Review and update safety plans regularly, ensuring they remain effective and tailored to the victim's needs.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of domestic abuse patterns, risk factors, and warning signs, using this knowledge to inform safety planning and victim support.
  • Provide information and referrals to victims on military and civilian resources, including emergency shelter, housing, childcare, legal services, clinical resources, medical services, and transitional compensation.
  • Offer follow-up support and services to victims, empowering them to advocate for their needs and make informed decisions about their safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with the Family Advocacy Intervention Specialist to promote education about and prevention of domestic abuse, developing and implementing outreach programs, educational briefings, skill-building classes, and marketing tools and strategies.
  • Participate in the installation Family Advocacy Committee, contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of installation domestic abuse policies and protocols.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in domestic abuse victim support, advocacy, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with victims, treatment managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective safety plans.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to changing circumstances.
