This role is specifically focused on the NATO SEASPARROW Surface Missile System (NSSMS) Mk 57. The Mk 57 is a sophisticated medium-range, rapid-response missile system designed to neutralize hostile aircraft, anti-ship missiles, and other airborne threats using surface-to-air missile technology.
Key Responsibilities:- Research and Design: Conduct thorough research and comprehensive design studies related to the development, acquisition, and in-service engineering of assigned systems. Evaluate performance metrics concerning hardware reliability, operational efficiency, and maintainability issues, as well as potential design modifications and system enhancements.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare, modify, and review technical documentation throughout all lifecycle phases. This includes development specifications, test plans, production drawings, and operational manuals, ensuring compliance with Navy regulations and technical accuracy.
- Problem Solving: Provide technical evaluations and solutions for fleet-related issues. This involves analyzing reported problems, researching data, and developing corrective actions, including interim modifications and technical bulletins.
- Consultative Support: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of system design and configuration. Engage with design agents and the technical community to provide consultative services across various technical functions, including configuration management and logistics support.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Fire Control Technician (NEC V31A) with expertise in MK 57 NSSMS Mod 12 – 15.
- At least 4 years of experience aboard naval vessels.
- Possession of a secret security clearance is mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams for troubleshooting and integration testing.
- Strong communication skills for effective briefings at all organizational levels and fostering teamwork.
- Analytical abilities to manage and track multiple technical challenges efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong organizational skills.
Work Status: Full Time
Travel Requirement: 10%
