Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Bone Marrow Transplant team at Methodist Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care, working closely with medical providers and the care team to deliver personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, ensuring thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse with Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma.
  • 1-2 years of Bone Marrow Transplant or Oncology acute care hospital nursing experience.
  • Open to cross-train from other experienced RN specialty.
