Position Overview:
As an Operating Room Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the surgical environment, acting as the primary support for the surgical team. Your responsibilities will include the meticulous preparation and organization of the sterile field, ensuring that all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment are readily available for surgical procedures. You will assist the surgeon by passing instruments during operations while upholding the highest standards of sterile technique and instrument care post-procedure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field in the operating room.
- Assist in the selection and arrangement of surgical instruments and supplies.
- Support the surgical team by passing instruments and materials during procedures.
- Participate in various roles such as Case Carts, Turnover Team, and Service Line Surgical Technologists.
- Collaborate with the RN in circulating duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Registration as a Surgical Technologist in the relevant state upon hire.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from a recognized provider.
- Recent experience as a Surgical Technologist or completion of an accredited program may be considered as relevant experience.
- At least two years of experience in an operating room setting.
