Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly qualified Senior Estimator to manage the estimating process for large-scale commercial construction projects. This role requires a strong background in ground-up commercial construction, estimating, and project management, with a focus on delivering high-quality results on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire estimating process for large commercial construction projects, from initial concept to final bid submission.
- Prepare precise and detailed cost estimates for ground-up commercial construction, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to gather essential information for accurate estimating.
- Utilize advanced software tools such as Revit, Primavera, Destini, and Bluebeam for estimating and project management tasks.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential challenges and develop contingency plans.
- Review design options and recommend optimal solutions based on cost, engineering quality, and material availability.
- Participate in contract negotiations and awards.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, pricing, and construction techniques to ensure competitive bidding.
- Present estimates and conduct bid reviews with senior management.
- Contribute to the continuous enhancement of estimating processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction, focusing on large-scale projects.
- Proven track record in project estimating, with experience in hard-bid, design-build, and conceptual estimating.
- Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, systems, and market trends.
- Proficiency in estimating and project management software, including Revit, Primavera, Destini, and Bluebeam.
- Strong analytical skills, capable of assessing complex information and delivering accurate estimates.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Strong negotiation skills, with a proven ability to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Professional Estimator Certification (e.g., CPE, PMP) is a plus.
