Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Excellence
    • Assist pharmacists with medication histories and verify patient medication records accurately.
    • Train and mentor pharmacy technicians to ensure they meet the highest standards of care.
    • Prepare and compound pharmaceuticals, including non-sterile and sterile products, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition products.
    • Issue controlled substances to patient care areas and maintain accurate records.
  • Clinical Expertise
    • Ensure safe and effective drug therapies for patients by reading, extracting, and interpreting information in patient medical records.
    • Detect and report suspected adverse drug reactions accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Participate in quality improvement and medication use review activities to optimize patient care.
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Lead by example and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in patient care.
    • Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of practice required.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.
  • ACPE accredited IV certification program, including hazardous (minimum 40 hours); or meet minimum State requirement.
