Overview:
The Housekeeping Team Leader is responsible for overseeing and coordinating housekeeping operations in designated areas, as well as fulfilling all responsibilities of the Housekeeping Manager in their absence.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily inspections of Room Attendants' performance within assigned areas to ensure compliance with standards and productivity levels.
  • In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager or Assistant Housekeeping Manager, inspect all VIP rooms and communicate their status to the Front Office, adhering to hotel standards.
  • Supervise the closing procedures of floors at the end of the day, ensuring that Room Attendants' carts are clean and adequately stocked.
  • Ensure that records of daily assignments are completed, signed, and submitted to the Housekeeping Office punctually.
  • Maintain key control protocols.
  • Manage items for "Lost and Found" in accordance with established standards.
  • Monitor the cleanliness and organization of Room Attendants' carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways, and landings.
  • Oversee the daily allocation of duties, ensuring that Room Attendants and House Attendants have a clear work assignment.
  • Carry an active pager/radio to maintain communication with the Front Office and/or Engineering throughout the shift.
  • Report on the status of all out-of-order rooms under the Housekeeping Department's supervision to the Guest Services Manager, following established protocols.
  • Initiate work orders for repairs and maintenance and forward them to Engineering, ensuring follow-up until completion.
  • Assist in training Housekeeping staff.
  • May be required to perform cleaning duties as business needs dictate.
  • Ensure the completion of cleaning projects on a biannual basis.
  • Strive to ensure overall guest satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in a related field is advantageous.
  • At least two to three years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Ability to stand for the duration of the shift.
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills, engaging with all levels of employees and guests in a friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
