The Maintenance Electrician will oversee the upkeep of three-phase 480v electrical systems and associated mechanical components within an industrial environment. Key responsibilities encompass monitoring, diagnosing issues, performing repairs, conducting preventive maintenance, and ensuring that control systems are functioning optimally across multiple manufacturing sites.

Accurate Castings Inc., a diverse foundry organization featuring specialized casting cleaning facilities, a pattern shop, and machining operations, operates under the name Hiler Industries.

Core Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, electrical/pneumatic/mechanical schematics, manuals, or other specifications to comprehend operational processes.
• Collaborate with a team to install conduits and pull wires.
• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on equipment and control systems, including:
• Three-phase motors, emergency generator controls, automatic transfer switches, relay controls, programmable control systems, Schneider PLCs and drives, AC/DC drive frequency controllers, pneumatic/hydraulic controls, and low voltage controls.
• Diagnose and repair defective components, replace worn parts, and inspect for proper assembly and installation or defects, such as loose connections or frayed wires.
• Utilize tools, testing equipment, or software to troubleshoot faulty equipment, applying knowledge of unit and system operations.
• Innovate, modify, and enhance industrial devices, circuits, and process controls.
• Coordinate with management, colleagues, supervisors, engineers, and contractors to address and resolve issues.
• Maintain and monitor spare control parts inventory.
• Ensure efficient use of time, tools, specialized diagnostic devices, materials, and parts.
• Be prepared for occasional evening, early morning, night, weekend, or holiday work as projects or breakdowns may occur, including some on-call repair duties.

Safety Protocols

• Prioritize safety for oneself and others as a fundamental value.
• Adhere to safety procedures, including Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, and associated personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Mandatory use of safety glasses and steel-toed footwear in manufacturing areas.
• Occasional requirements may include respirator use, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Some tasks may involve working on scissor lifts and elevated platforms.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Electrical and Electronics - Familiarity with powered industrial systems, use of ohm meters, circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment.
• Computers - Understanding of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
• Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, usage, repair, and maintenance.
• Design - Awareness of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing precise technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

Education and Experience

• Completion of at least two (2) years of vocational training or a related field of study.
