We are seeking a board-certified/eligible psychiatrist to join our team at the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health. The ideal candidate will have experience working with an acute adult inpatient population and be able to provide high-quality psychiatric care.
Responsibilities:- Assess and evaluate psychiatric illnesses in patients
- Provide clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary treatment team
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans and interventions
- Manage psychiatric medications and document patient response
- Collaborate with consultants and attend court hearings as needed
- Complete medical record documentation in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
- Coordinate patient care and discharge planning
Our inpatient facility has 302 adult beds and provides a range of services, including civil, forensic, and geriatric care. The ideal candidate will have a caseload of 10-20 patients and will work closely with a full complement of interdisciplinary team members.
