Job Summary

AtlantiCare is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist to join our team. As an Inpatient Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely distribution of medications and pharmaceutical supplies to support high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and evaluate medication orders, assessing for drug-drug, drug-allergy, and drug-disease state interactions.
  • Provide drug information to clinicians and patients, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records on patient profiles and controlled drug substances, adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Manage pharmaceutical inventories, maintain emergency drug supplies, and ensure the security of automated dispensing machines and general medication security on nursing units.
  • Direct and verify the work of Pharmacy Technicians, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Participate in clinical programs, such as Anticoagulation Management, Pharmacokinetic Monitoring, Adverse Drug Event Monitoring, patient care rounding, pharmacotherapy optimization, and general medication safety.
  • Support organizational goals and values by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork, respect, and cooperation.
  • Actively pursue opportunities for professional growth and development, staying up-to-date with the latest clinical practices and technologies.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree or Master's degree required.
  • Current New Jersey State license as a Registered Pharmacist required.
  • ACLS and CPR certifications preferred.
  • Two years of experience preferred, with two years of hospital experience preferred for Inpatient Pharmacists.
  • Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire.
Work Environment

The Inpatient Pharmacist will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, potentially exposed to infectious diseases, hazardous substances, and physical hazards. The role requires standing for approximately 60% of the time and occasional reaching.

Reporting Relationship

Inpatient Pharmacists will report to the Director of Pharmacy Operations, while Outpatient Pharmacists will report to the Director of Outpatient Pharmacy and Business Development.
