AtlantiCare is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist to join our team. As an Inpatient Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely distribution of medications and pharmaceutical supplies to support high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret and evaluate medication orders, assessing for drug-drug, drug-allergy, and drug-disease state interactions.
- Provide drug information to clinicians and patients, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
- Maintain accurate and complete records on patient profiles and controlled drug substances, adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Manage pharmaceutical inventories, maintain emergency drug supplies, and ensure the security of automated dispensing machines and general medication security on nursing units.
- Direct and verify the work of Pharmacy Technicians, ensuring seamless operations.
- Participate in clinical programs, such as Anticoagulation Management, Pharmacokinetic Monitoring, Adverse Drug Event Monitoring, patient care rounding, pharmacotherapy optimization, and general medication safety.
- Support organizational goals and values by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork, respect, and cooperation.
- Actively pursue opportunities for professional growth and development, staying up-to-date with the latest clinical practices and technologies.
- Doctor of Pharmacy Degree or Master's degree required.
- Current New Jersey State license as a Registered Pharmacist required.
- ACLS and CPR certifications preferred.
- Two years of experience preferred, with two years of hospital experience preferred for Inpatient Pharmacists.
- Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire.
The Inpatient Pharmacist will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, potentially exposed to infectious diseases, hazardous substances, and physical hazards. The role requires standing for approximately 60% of the time and occasional reaching.
Reporting RelationshipInpatient Pharmacists will report to the Director of Pharmacy Operations, while Outpatient Pharmacists will report to the Director of Outpatient Pharmacy and Business Development.
