Job Summary

Amergis is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Aide to support students with instructional and behavioral needs. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with special education departments and supervising staff to provide individualized support and facilitate learning activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement IEP objectives, including math, reading, speech, and independent skills, in one-on-one or group settings.
  • Assist teachers in lesson planning, worksheet preparation, and reinforcement systems.
  • Accompany students during recess, lunch, and community experiences.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers and staff to ensure seamless support.
  • Strictly maintain confidentiality regarding student, parent, and classroom information.
  • Collaborate with related service personnel, such as PT, OT, and SLP, to implement prescribed programs.
  • Support students in developing independent skills through self-care activities.
  • Participate in behavior management techniques under the direction of teachers and school professionals.
  • Assist with clerical duties, including making stimuli, copying materials, and maintaining a clean and organized classroom.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively interact with supervisors, coworkers, and clients.
  • Computer proficiency preferred.
  • Successful completion of background screening and onboarding process.
  • Meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Full command of the English language, verbal and written.
  • Current certificate as applicable per state and/or client requirement.
