Our accredited methadone treatment centers are committed to assisting individuals struggling with prescription drug abuse and opiate addiction, helping them reclaim their lives with dignity and respect.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Telecounselor II to join our community-oriented team.
ROLE SUMMARY:
As a Telecounselor, you will provide individual counseling services through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform to patients at New Season's clinics nationwide. This remote position requires adherence to scheduled hours based on clinic assignments and patient needs. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including the Medical Director, Program Director, Treatment Services Coordinator, Counselors, and Nurses, to assess and meet the clinical needs of patients while promoting their overall well-being.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct individual counseling sessions with assigned patients via synchronous video communication.
- Educate patients on treatment processes, health-related issues, and recovery strategies.
- Maintain a performance standard of 50% of working hours dedicated to direct patient interaction each month.
- Complete necessary documentation, including telecounseling screenings, psychosocial assessments, DAP notes, individualized treatment plans, and reassessments, within required timeframes.
- Assist patients with intake, admission, discharge, and transfer paperwork as needed.
- Document patient progress and ensure compliance with organizational and state mandates in the electronic health record system.
- Identify clinical and case management needs and work towards addressing them.
- Maintain effective communication with clinic leadership and support staff, responding to emails promptly and managing a shared calendar for patient scheduling.
- Report any instances of patient abuse, neglect, or grievances as required.
- Coordinate Urine Drug Screens with clinic personnel and complete necessary documentation.
- Ensure understanding and compliance with program and state-specific policies and procedures.
- Maintain proper licensure and certification according to state requirements and program needs.
- Participate in surveys and inspections by relevant agencies as required.
- Engage in staff meetings and treatment team meetings as scheduled.
- Actively participate in individual and group supervision sessions.
- Adhere to all local, state, federal, and company regulations and policies.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by clinic or corporate leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education/Certification: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in a Human Services-related field and hold an independent counseling license (LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, or equivalent) in the relevant state, with a minimum of two years of experience at the current license level. Candidates should also be able to obtain counseling licenses in other states as needed.
- Experience: Preferred candidates will have knowledge and experience in Substance Abuse and/or Telecounseling Services.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to multitask, work independently, prioritize effectively, and demonstrate reliability. Basic mathematical skills are also required.
