Are you enthusiastic about crafting exceptional coffee experiences? As a Coffee Specialist at InsideHigherEd, you will play a pivotal role in our dynamic food service team, collaborating closely with our Executive Director of Auxiliary Services and Frontline Coordinator.
In this position, you will engage in a variety of responsibilities, from preparing and serving delightful food to ensuring our workspace is pristine. Your expertise will shine as you create exquisite coffee beverages and connect with our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement: Provide outstanding service by prioritizing customer needs and responding to inquiries about menu selections.
- Operational Standards: Uphold the values and mission of InsideHigherEd by adhering to operational policies, maintaining a safe environment, and ensuring cleanliness.
- Quality Assurance: Consistently deliver high-quality beverages and food items by following established recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Team Support: Assist in training new team members by offering constructive feedback and encouragement.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels and report any equipment issues to the Dining Director.
- Process Enhancement: Contribute to improving service efficiency and participate in menu development.
- College Values: Actively support and demonstrate the values and mission of InsideHigherEd.
- Adaptability: Maintain composure during busy periods to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED and demonstrate knowledge of basic food service operations, customer service principles, and kitchen equipment.
Physical Requirements: The role may involve frequent lifting, standing, and walking, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment: This position is typically performed in a food service setting with varying hours, including evenings and weekends.
