Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency and Intensive Care Unit team at Veterinary Emergency + Referral Center of Hawaii. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working closely with our board-certified specialists and emergency professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

• Triage incoming patients and manage client relationships throughout their visit
• Partner with DVMs in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures, including catheter placement
• Obtain and process laboratory samples, such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates
• Utilize radiology imaging modalities for patient assessment
• Execute, monitor, and recover sedation and anesthetic events
• Provide exceptional client care to maintain long-term relationships

• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different communication styles
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with a proven track record of personal accountability
• Ability to maintain a professional composure and positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledgeable of and able to effectively operate patient monitoring, laboratory, radiographic, and anesthetic equipment
• Ability to accurately calculate volumes and rates of medications and other treatments

• 2 years of experience as a veterinary assistant/technician in a progressive general practice and/or 1 year in a specialty practice
