Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Travel Nurse in the Operating Room (OR) department. This is a 13-week assignment with a competitive weekly pay range of $2472 to $2746.

Job Details:
  • Job Specialty: Operating Room (OR)
  • Job Duration: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Day Shift, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM; On-call 3 to 4 shifts per 4-week period
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Experience: Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience
  • License: State RN License in good standing
  • Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association)
Responsibilities:

As an Operating Room Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced OR environment. Your duties will include:

  • Assuming responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame, providing care via the nursing process, trends, technology, and resource management.
  • Performing all responsibilities and duties required by the unit, specific to the scope of service.
  • Implementing procedures and theories related to the area of practice.
  • Maintaining up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care for healthcare team integration.
  • Completing initial patient assessment upon admission and developing a suitable care plan based on patient and family needs.
  • Implementing and modifying the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
  • Ensuring patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents.
  • Communicating with others directly and privately to resolve issues.
  • Offering constructive feedback for peer professional development and collaborating with colleagues to expand knowledge.
  • Identifying and addressing personal learning needs.
  • Fulfilling all departmental competency requirements.
Department Specific Functions:

In addition to the above responsibilities, you will also be responsible for:

  • Preparing the OR Suite with necessary supplies, equipment, and medications.
  • Interviewing patients utilizing designated identifiers.
  • Transporting patients to the appropriate OR Suite and positioning them safely on the OR Table, performing timeouts as required.
  • Appropriately positioning and prepping patients for procedures using guidelines.
  • Supporting the surgical team during procedures by responding to requests and providing additional supplies or medications as needed.
  • Transporting patients to PACU or specific units and providing handoff to the receiving RN.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proficiency in operating room procedures and Basic Life Support (CPR)
  • Strong communication skills in English (speaking, reading, writing)
