The individual in this position will:

  • Facilitate communication between patients and various hospital departments using our scheduling software.
  • Secure electronic signatures for consent to treatment and financial obligations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, utilizing strong verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a relevant medical field, such as medical assisting or office administration.
  • Experience in a medical office environment.

Core Duties:
The responsibilities outlined below represent the general nature of work performed in this role, but are not exhaustive:

  • Collect and enter demographic, billing, and insurance information from patients or their representatives.
  • Prepare necessary consent forms and ensure signatures are obtained.
  • Handle patient payments, including co-payments and deductibles, while providing receipts and documenting transactions.
  • Assist patients in accessing financial counseling services when needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations while managing sensitive information.
  • Respond to phone inquiries in a courteous manner and manage patient scheduling effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

Physical and Working Environment:
This role requires:

  • Frequent movement, including walking and standing, as well as the ability to lift moderate weights.
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Interaction with patients and medical staff on a daily basis.

Skills and Abilities:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proficiency in using relevant computer software and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • A basic understanding of medical terminology and insurance processes.
