Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Per Diem Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Cencora, a leading healthcare company. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our Ambulatory Pharmacy team in providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create patient profiles in our pharmacy information system and enter necessary prescription plan information for processing and adjudication.
  • Enter new patient prescription information into the system and address insurance, reimbursement, and payment issues as needed.
  • Participate in achieving business goals and metrics for the Ambulatory Pharmacy and retrieve and prepare medication for pharmacist review and verification.
  • Prepare inventory reports for pharmacist review and purchase, submit, receive, and place inventory in stock, and answer inbound telephone calls and triage as appropriate.
  • Assist with reviews and handling of adjudicated prescription claims and follow up as needed.
  • Provide required information for therapeutic consults with patients and intervene with Pharmacy Benefit Manager Companies to resolve plan and patient-specific adjudication issues.
  • Supply and monitor ambulatory dispensing robotic technology and deliver medications and pharmaceutical supplies to patients as outlined by the concierge prescription program.
Requirements
  • Normally requires a minimum of two (2) years directly related and progressively responsible ambulatory pharmacy experience; bachelor's degree program preferred.
  • Pharmacy technician certification with a national technical certification organization, such as Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or other comparable national certification required.
  • State pharmacy certification is acceptable if core competencies are equal to or better than national certification requirements.
