Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care in environments requiring intricate assessments and interventions, adhering to the established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather comprehensive data relevant to the patient's health and situation.
  • Prioritize and optimize patient flow through triage, employing age-appropriate and culturally sensitive practices.
  • Analyze assessment data to identify diagnoses or issues.
  • Establish expected outcomes for individualized care plans.
  • Implement, coordinate, and educate to foster health and a safe practice environment.
  • Evaluate progress towards achieving outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively across various formats in all practice areas.
  • Exhibit leadership within the professional practice setting.
  • Maintain knowledge and skills that reflect current nursing practices.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge in emergency nursing, ensuring care meets the specific needs of patients.
  • Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensure.

Experience:

  • No prior experience necessary.

Physical Demands:

  • Regular use of speech for effective communication.
  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling of objects weighing 0-50 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, reaching, and data entry.
  • Regular visual acuity for near and far distances, as well as color differentiation.
  • Frequent auditory perception for communication and monitoring.
  • Occasional driving and physical activities such as bending and squatting.

Licensure and Certifications Required:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure - State Board of Nursing
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Additional certifications may include ENPC, NRP, PALS, or TNCC based on state requirements.
