Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Market Education Director, the Clinical Educator collaborates with nursing leadership and staff across various departments to assess, plan, develop, implement, facilitate, evaluate, and revise educational programs for nursing and non-nursing personnel. This role is essential in the orientation and ongoing education of nursing staff at Tenet Healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Education

• Address the educational requirements for assigned units/clinics, incorporating classroom instruction, clinical experiences, and learning technologies.

• Execute comprehensive educational programs to fulfill the orientation and ongoing competency needs of nursing staff, focusing on professional development in alignment with Tenet's nursing practice model.

• Ensure all program/course updates comply with nursing department standards and regulatory requirements. Stay informed on current research and national education standards in nursing practice.

• Provide consultation to enhance continuing education and professional development opportunities.

• Coordinate and deliver various educational programs, including Grand Rounds, in-services, and specialty curricula, to promote competence and professional growth among nursing staff.

• Lead preceptors and serve as a role model through educational initiatives and continuous mentoring.

• Facilitate nurse residency programs and actively support the professional growth of participants.

• Engage in continuing education provider unit learning and evaluate nursing education activities for continuing education credit.

• Assist in the development of clinical policies and procedures as needed.

• Offer guidance and resources for the professional advancement of others.

• Mentor colleagues, nursing staff, students, and others as appropriate.

• Participate in quality performance improvement initiatives.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Critical Care Services

• Oversee services including, but not limited to:

• Telemetry/Intermediate Care/Progressive Care Units

• Transitional Care Unit

• IV Team

• Monitor Technicians

• Cardiology Services including Cath Lab/EKG/CVRU

• Responsible for various projects, such as:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

• EKG Training

• Stroke and Cardiac Care Initiatives

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Education or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in an acute care environment is preferred.
3. Current State Licenses & Certifications.
