Pharmacy Technician II Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician II to join our team at Health First Medical Group. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a vital role in assisting pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records.
Key Responsibilities- Fills physician orders, medication carts, or stock requisitions accurately and efficiently.
- Prepares intravenous admixtures or other sterile products with precision and attention to detail.
- Replenishes medications in Pyxis units to ensure timely and accurate dispensing.
- Delivers medication and supplies to patient care and ancillary areas as required.
- Rotates stock to ensure use before expiration date and maintains a clean and organized pharmacy environment.
- Attends pharmacy staff meetings and stays informed about relevant email communications.
- Participates in orientation, education, and training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Maintains patient and department/hospital confidentiality at all times.
- Identifies and replaces outdated and unusable drugs to ensure patient safety.
- Generates reports, pick lists, and labels as required to support pharmacy operations.
- Maintains logs, records, and other required documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Collects data, conducts quality monitors, and completes documentation as assigned to ensure quality and compliance.
- Maintains bar–code database and packages bar code medications to support efficient dispensing.
- Completes patient Medication Reconciliations accurately and efficiently to ensure patient safety.
- Current State of Florida Registration Pharmacy Technician registration or current State of Florida Pharmacy Intern registration required.
- National pharmacy technician certification by the PTCB or ExCPT preferred.
- IV admixture experience preferred.
- Computer skills to support distribution systems required.
- Availability to work long and irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- Repetitive use of hands and fingers to perform tasks such as typing and computer work.
- Good hand and wrist dexterity to enable precise movements.
- Good eyesight to read labels, prescriptions, and graduated containers of fluids.
- Good hearing to understand phone instructions, customers, and colleagues.
- Ability to work in a noisy and distracting environment, handle frequent interruptions, and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.
- Ability to handle large volumes of work for long periods of time.
- Ability to walk, bend, stoop, twist, sit, and stand for long periods of time, 8–10 hours a day.
- May require lifting and carrying light loads (Up to 40 lbs.).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Patience, positive attitude, cooperation, and friendly demeanor.
- Problem–solving skills, analytical skills, attention to detail, and thoroughness.
- Ability to handle and work well under stress.
- Good listening skills, good social skills, and ability to perform multiple tasks at one time.
- Ability to make quick accurate decisions and evaluate medical literature.
