We are seeking a highly skilled Histotechnologist to join our team at All Medical Personnel. As a Histotechnologist, you will play a critical role in processing specimens for histological examination, ensuring accurate and timely results.
Key Responsibilities- Specimen Processing: Process specimens for histological examination, including grossing, embedding, microtomy, and routine staining.
- Special Stains and IHC: Process special stains and Immunohistochemical slides for microscopic analysis, and prepare slides for ancillary testing.
- Instrumentation Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance of histology instrumentation to ensure optimal performance.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory at workstations and request supplies as needed to maintain a well-stocked laboratory.
- Research Coordination: May coordinate laboratory research projects, ensuring timely and accurate results.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Resolve discrepancies with minimal oversight, seeking help as needed to ensure accurate results.
- Related Duties: Perform other related duties and training as assigned to ensure the laboratory runs smoothly.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies, including CAP, and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Specimen Labeling and Integrity: Ensure accurate specimen labeling and maintain the integrity of specimen records through approved identification procedures.
- Procedure and Record Maintenance: Maintain procedures and records in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Proficiency in Histology Laboratory Practice: Must be proficient in all aspects of histology laboratory practice.
- Licensure and Certification: State licensed or able to obtain before starting position as a Clinical Histology Technician or Clinical Medical Technologist, and meets CLIA personnel standard criteria.
- Experience and Skills: Experience with IHC, specialty staining, microtomy, grossing, processing, embedding, cutting, and routine special staining techniques. Preferred skills include ASCP and grossing experience.
