Job Title: Volunteer Athletic Coach

Johnston County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and experienced Volunteer Athletic Coach to join our team. As a key member of our coaching staff, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring student-athletes in their respective sports, promoting a culture of excellence, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all participants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement coaching plans and strategies to enhance student-athlete performance and achievement.
  • Provide guidance and support to student-athletes in their academic and athletic pursuits.
  • Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other coaches to ensure a cohesive and supportive team environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and community members to promote the school's athletic programs and events.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and school policies related to athletics and student safety.
Requirements:
  • Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level.
  • Knowledge of athletic policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and community members.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
