Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Investigative Storyteller to join our team at Newsday Media Group. As a key member of our Investigations department, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth research and analysis to uncover compelling stories that drive reform and resonate with readers.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing, reporting, and news-gathering skills, including source cultivation. You should be able to turn stories around quickly and work collaboratively with the investigations team and editor to juggle project requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrating a record of exploiting public records to produce and execute watchdog and accountability stories
  • Possessing strong data-reporting skills and attention to detail
  • Cultivating sources and working effectively in a fast-paced environment

You will also be expected to contribute to high-profile enterprise stories and exhibit an eye for storytelling across multiple platforms, especially video and social media.

This is a full-time position based on Long Island, with opportunities for travel throughout the region as related to assignments. A driver's license in good standing and reliable means of transportation are required.

Salary range: $32.53 - $53.38 per hour, commensurate with experience. This position is represented by the Graphics Communication Conference, PPPWU.
