  • Designs personalized education plans tailored to the unique requirements of students with speech-language impairments.
  • Guides educators in recognizing typical and atypical developmental milestones and in making referrals for suspected speech-language challenges.
  • Conducts comprehensive evaluations and diagnoses of speech-language disorders using culturally and linguistically sensitive approaches.
  • Implements screening processes to identify students who may have speech-language difficulties.
  • Facilitates appropriate referrals to community agencies and specialists as necessary.
  • Collaborates with classroom educators and other school personnel to apply age-appropriate and linguistically relevant accommodations and intervention strategies.
  • Provides support, information, and counseling to families when suitable, considering multicultural and multilingual contexts.
  • Delivers professional development and serves as a consultant to educators and school staff on topics related to language acquisition and speech-language disorders.
  • Maintains detailed records for students receiving speech-language services.
  • Tracks and manages lists of referred, screened, and eligible students, along with a directory of external agencies and specialists.
  • Collects comprehensive case history information when additional family, health, developmental, and environmental histories are relevant.
  • Monitors and inventories speech-language assessment tools and intervention resources available in the educational environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence or Clinical Fellowship Candidacy from ASHA.
  • MA DESE License and MA State License in Speech-Language Pathology (All Grade Levels).
