Job Description

The Client Services Specialist role is a critical part of our Domestic Violence Shelter Program at Safe Horizon. We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Client Services Associate.

This position involves working in a fast-paced residential facility, providing support to survivors of domestic violence and their children. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment, conducting emergency shelter intakes, and providing crisis intervention services.

To succeed in this role, you will need excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service to clients. If you have a passion for social justice and a desire to make a positive impact in your community, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct emergency shelter intakes and assess immediate safety needs
  • Provide crisis intervention services, including mediation and de-escalation techniques
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment in the residential facility
  • Support clients with basic needs, such as food, clothing, and household items
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to improve client-centered practice skills

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; relevant experience an asset
  • Basic computer skills necessary; ability to learn software applications quickly
  • Candidate must have or obtain certifications in fire safety and alarm systems within 3 months of employment
