Position Overview:
We are in search of a CLINICAL NURSE II for our Duke Fertility Center to play a vital role within our healthcare team, delivering both direct and indirect patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and document professional nursing care in accordance with physician directives and established protocols. Utilize clinical judgment to tailor care plans based on patient assessments and responses.
- Manage in-basket communications and patient inquiries effectively.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to oversee patient fertility cycles, including but not limited to IUI, IVF, and FET procedures.
- Delegate responsibilities and supervise both licensed and unlicensed personnel.
- Support nursing staff in delivering care and take on leadership roles as assigned.
- Monitor and ensure the quality of the care environment, including equipment and resource management.
- Engage in professional development by maintaining necessary competencies and identifying educational needs.
- Act as a mentor to support the growth of colleagues and learners.
- Contribute to identifying and implementing clinical or operational improvements.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Participate in a rotating weekend schedule, limited to one weekend per month.
- Graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or a Nursing Diploma program is required.
- Registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing must enroll in a BSN program within two years and complete it within five years.
- A minimum of three years of registered nursing experience is necessary.
- Experience in fertility nursing is preferred.
This position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule during daytime hours, with a rotating weekend requirement of no more than one weekend per month.
