Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Benefit and Eligibility Worker to join our team at the State of Oregon. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in determining eligibility for individuals and families in need of medical, food, cash, and childcare benefits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough interviews with applicants to assess their eligibility for benefits.
  • Review and analyze complex information to make accurate and timely eligibility determinations.
  • Communicate eligibility decisions to applicants in a clear and compassionate manner.
  • Provide person-centered services with a trauma-informed approach to identify needs and provide support.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to ensure seamless eligibility determinations and customer service.
Requirements
  • Two years of experience in determining eligibility for an agency program, including interviewing and assessing client needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse audiences and situations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service.
