Position Overview

We are looking for a committed Primary Health Care Physician to deliver direct acute primary health care services. This role involves diagnosing, treating, referring, and following up with our eligible patients. Your focus will be on preventative care, educating patients on health maintenance and adherence to treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver patient care using age-appropriate techniques for all demographics, Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with extended hours on Wednesdays.
  • Manage a patient load of 8-12 individuals daily.
  • Diagnose health issues for acute outpatient treatment and refer patients to specialized care as required.
  • Provide education to patients regarding their health conditions and recommend appropriate treatments and preventive strategies.
  • Maintain comprehensive medical records for all patient interactions.
  • Establish patient care objectives and offer emotional and psychological support to patients and their families.
  • Conduct audits of patient records and participate in quarterly peer evaluations.
  • Oversee workload management, identifying peak and low periods, and adjust operations for maximum efficiency.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Be available for consultations with staff.
  • Foster relationships with medical organizations at local, state, and national levels.
  • Independently resolve issues and provide guidance to colleagues on procedures and techniques.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Licensure: Must possess a full, unrestricted professional Physician license in Alaska.
  • Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical institution in the United States.
  • Experience/Training: Post-licensure professional experience, approved internship/residency training, or advanced studies in medicine.
  • Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
