About the Role
Cosa seeks a visionary leader to fill the position of Chief People Officer. This individual will play a key role in shaping our human resources strategy and ensuring its effective implementation. The Chief People Officer will oversee the development and execution of comprehensive human resources plans, fostering a positive work environment that aligns with our organization's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement human resources policies and procedures
* Lead, manage, and mentor the human resources department team
* Oversee employee disciplinary procedures, ensuring consistency with union contracts and equity
* Collaborate with district leadership to create a positive work environment, aligning human resources practices with our mission, goals, and needs

Requirements
* A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, I/O Psychology, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field is required. A Master's degree is preferred. A SHRM-CP, SPHR, PHR, HRCI, or similar certification is desirable. Ten (10) years of human resources management experience is required, with at least three years in a senior management capacity. Experience in a full-service unionized school district, municipal, state, or federal public agency is essential.

Talent Acquisition and Strategic Staffing
The Chief People Officer will develop strategies to recruit and retain highly qualified teachers, administrators, and support staff. This individual will ensure a streamlined and effective hiring process, including the management of job postings, interviews, and hiring decisions. Furthermore, the Chief People Officer will oversee the negotiation process between the school district and employee unions, working closely with legal counsel and union representatives to establish fair and balanced contracts regarding wages, benefits, working conditions, and other employment terms.
