Position Summary: The Skilled Machine Operator role encompasses various responsibilities, including the operation and maintenance of machinery used in the processing of dairy products. Positions may include Processor Operator and Filler Operator, each playing a crucial role in transforming raw milk into market-ready products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process dairy products while meticulously documenting all necessary information on regulatory forms and operational checklists.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, promptly reporting any product inconsistencies or equipment malfunctions.
- Follow all safety protocols, including Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines, while actively participating in safety programs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including OSHA, NYSDA, PMO, and FDA standards, while assisting in maintaining SQF readiness and HACCP compliance.
- Work effectively in a dynamic environment that may involve cold temperatures, noise, and varying surfaces.
- Set up, operate, and monitor specific processing equipment and systems as required.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- Minimum educational requirement of a GED or high school diploma.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, including the ability to set up and dismantle equipment.
- Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to meet attendance and scheduling requirements as per company policy.
Physical Expectations:
- Capability to stand or walk for extended periods, working in diverse temperature conditions.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including bending, climbing, and lifting materials or equipment.
- Willingness to undertake additional duties as assigned.
Compensation:
Salary for the Filler Operator position is competitive, while the Processor Operator role follows a progressive pay scale based on experience.
