Job Summary:
Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for maintaining a clean and safe environment? Do you thrive in a fast-paced setting where no two days are the same? We are seeking a skilled Custodian II to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. As a Custodian II, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning windows and light fixtures. You will also be responsible for ensuring proper sanitization and disinfection in accordance with established procedures and safety measures.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform custodial functions timely and with high quality, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning windows and light fixtures.
• Ensure proper sanitization and disinfection in accordance with training received.
• Clean and maintain floors, restrooms, nurses' station, and other areas in accordance with established procedures and safety measures.
• Maintain and clean the interior and exterior of assigned buildings, empty trash, and report needed repairs.
• Replenish supplies as needed.
• Coach other custodians as needed.
• Inspect assigned buildings and areas for cleanliness, completed work, and needed minor repairs, and perform minor maintenance.
• Complete documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
• Protect confidential information.
• Maintain inventory and equipment records.

Requirements:
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, standards, and sanitation regulations.
• Knowledge of infection control principles and methods.
• Knowledge of inventory control principles and methods.
• Skills in the use of custodial equipment, materials, and the safe handling of chemicals.
• Skills in the use and maintenance of building maintenance tools and equipment.
• Ability to stay on task and complete work timely.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand/walk on hard floors for extended periods.
• Ability to work harmoniously and productively with co-workers and patients.
• Ability to work irregular hours.
