About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to nuclear medicine procedures, including preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, conducting diagnostic tests, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Competently perform basic to intermediate nuclear medicine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including general and cardiac scans.
  • Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information and compare requisitions to physician orders to ensure exam accuracy.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and procedural adjunctive medication by proper route per clinician prescription and according to approved exam parameters.
  • Relay pertinent patient history information to appropriate staff and departments.
  • Post-process images as directed and accurately identify and label images.
  • Maintain records in accordance with various regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
Requirements
  • Nuclear Medicine Tech (N) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification (CNMT) issued by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent knowledge.
