Role Summary:
This position plays a crucial role in the development and execution of Continuous Improvement strategies aimed at enhancing productivity and eliminating waste across various locations. The Lean Improvement Specialist will also be responsible for training and mentoring teams on PDCA projects and lean methodologies to streamline our operations. This individual will bring expertise in advanced problem-solving and process enhancement techniques.

Key Projects:
Our team is currently engaged in exciting initiatives such as:

  • Creating innovative training programs.
  • Implementing Daily Direction Setting in facilities to empower teams in establishing daily objectives, monitoring progress, and swiftly addressing challenges, thereby improving operational efficiency.
  • Establishing autonomous maintenance practices to boost equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and foster a sense of ownership among operators, which leads to enhanced productivity and quality.

Opportunities for Growth:
This role offers a chance to gain extensive experience in Lean methodologies and advanced problem-solving techniques, make a significant impact on productivity and waste reduction across multiple sites, and collaborate with diverse teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Training and Development: Educate, mentor, and challenge process owners in the application of lean tools and techniques to establish sustainable management and measurement systems.
  • Facilitation of Lean Tools: Guide teams in utilizing Lean Tools such as Kaizen, 5S, Standard Work, and PDCA/Problem Solving Process while identifying waste.
  • Project Oversight: Oversee multiple projects to ensure timely delivery and quality, utilizing both internal and external resources.
  • Process Enhancement: Analyze production methods and processes to pinpoint improvements that drive efficiency, reduce costs, and eliminate waste.
  • Best Practices: Proactively seek and implement best practices across sites.

Travel Expectations:
Travel primarily within California, with occasional trips as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in an operations role (e.g., Continuous Improvement, Production, or Quality).
  • Strong understanding of World Class Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science, or a related field.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Certification or substantial experience in Lean and/or Six Sigma is advantageous.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills (both quantitative and qualitative).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable in change management practices.

Compensation:
Base Salary: $110,000, with potential for a discretionary bonus based on skills and experience.
